Another Multitude3 Fail Experience!
It seems people are still being burnt by these guys, remember always research the company first.
Before I start, multitude3.com is well, its a load of feces.
Ok, So heres how it goes. I decided to start a little blog that my friends and family could keep up with whats going on in my life. So I purchased a package, as soon as I bought it I was waiting for an email with my details, 10 minutes later they came through, not bad so far. So I signed onto this cPanel thing and installed wordpress, ok. So I used the installation script it set up the MySQL database and I got to the end it was just a blank page, I went back to my website and there whole website wasn’t load, though there client area was (weird?) so I posted a support ticket, with no reply. I was already frustrated with them, though I bought a yearly plan so that sucked. I decided to go for a walk because my head was about to explode (many issues today), I come back half an hour later, login to cPanel and go to my file manager, there where no files.
So I decided to try out FTP, so I went though and logged on went to the wordpress website and quickly downloaded wordpress, went back. I had already timed out – whatever, I uploaded all the files and went on it. The FTP server said something about permission problems and didn’t upload some of the files. I had to re-upload them – that was the response from the server.
I was fed up with it already, so I made an email account in cPanel and sent an email directly to M3, I went into the email client and it said the SMTP server was down, this is really bad already – more frustration that required 2 glasses of water, kidding it was 4.
I decided to try the auto installer again, it failed. So I decided to make a new FTP account and upload it (this has taken about an hour so far). I came up with some error. Im guessing there FTP server is failing on me. I decided to upload every wordpress file one at a time – hurray it worked!
Moving on, I decided to use the cPanel MySQL wizard, I went to it – at very slow speeds – to find that it wouldn’t load.
I decided to go to there live support to find it was offline, I called there number and I got a dial tone.. there support is not doing that I want it to do..
Giving up I sent an email from my GMail account to get a response from a post agent saying the email was invalid.
I sent in another support ticket and got a reply saying they where sorry, about the problems and have fixed the MySQL issues.. I tried and it didn’t work – I gave up on the spot.
Any ideas on what to do next?
Now that’s a JOKE!
Unfortunately, I too have endeavoured the nightmare of ‘Multitude3′ web-hosting. It is a utter joke, beyond laughable.
Dan, the owner of Multitude3 is a complete moron who’s incapable of maintaining a server.
How I wish I spent my money elsewhere…
And the hits keep on coming… Below is an email you may have received from Daniel “Too Leet For Spell-Check” Watson…
Found this site via google, I’ve had so many issues with them its not funny. Not just that, word is that the owner is a pedophile who goes on an MSN account called ‘Amy’, if I find the email I’ll report it.
If you google Multitude3, you can find an array of complaints and misconduct.
How to these companies get away with such unacceptable behaviour is beyond me.
Not to mention that the staff they employ are a bunch of con-artists. A fine example would be a person named Carwyn, who’s now the “CIO” of Multitude3. Prior to Multitude3, Carwyn had a track record of setting up numerous web-hosting services offering proposed services at flat-rate fees. Unfortunately, the services he setup would vanish just after a month after he pocketed his victims money.
They need to be formally investigated by trading-standards. How such company can operate is beyond me.
There is a very simple reason why they cannot be “done” for this, Almost no web hosting companies are actually registered! They are not bound by legal contracts, and as long as they cover it in their Terms & Conditions, they can do it!
Think about it, what do you really think is in that 200 Page-I’m-Not-Reading-That contract? For all you know, there could be a clause half way through that says something along the lines of:
“26. Should the company close, all web hosting packages will be terminated and no refunds given”
or even
“27. Support is a free service and because of this it may take weeks to reply, or you may recieve no reply at all”
You’ll be suprised with the crap these companies can get away with. I tryed breaking into the hosting industry, and I realised why Carwyn closed his companies…
Flat-Rate hosting requires you to have your own physical server, not a reseller which many companies use. Flat-Rate hosting means a very small profit, and on resellers you lose money.
Joel
If that is the case Joel regarding Carwyn, all good and well. However, it does not justify Carwyn’s actions.
It is after all the hosts responsibility to provide adequate hosting if your purchasing any form of web-hosting. If the host does not deliver the product, then a refund is expected.
It is not justified for the host to vanish overnight without providing notification to its client(s) why the hosting provider has closed, nor does it give the host any right to run off with the client(s) money.
