MW2 – Less than 12 hours till launch!

With the worlds most anticipated game of all time less than 12 hours away from launch Infinity ward are sure keeping quiet on their PC release of the game with no word if it’s even finished yet! Will we be seeing a patch being available hours after launch, will IW-net hold up to the expectations of players, will we ever see dedicated servers?

Well I guess we will find out in less than 12 hours so see if it’s just not one big buzz kill!

Console players should be right at home with their match making systems and costly DLC, PC players will be introduced into a new world of control and less customizations. In the end the game is going to sell like hot cakes, no one can deny that. The hardcore PC fans are will cross their arms and stick their noses up and continue playing what they play best; COD4/WaW. New mods bigger and better than before will hit the scene, MW2 will loose it’s steam and you will find the non-hardcore PC players will come back to COD4 and WaW only because of the Mods, Server Listings and an already strong community.

PC Modders will get their hands on a copy of MW2 and pull the code to bits and find out what makes it tick, hackers will do the same, the PC copy will be leaked on torrent sites and direct http uploads. It won’t be long till someone figures out a way to host dedicated private servers via a VPN based system, you see similar systems with Starcraft and Warcraft 3. If anything history has shown us we’re a never say die community and if there is something not included in the game we find a way to make it happen.

It’s going to be an interesting few months to watch the PC community try and take in this new “genre” of game play / server matchmaking. When DLC is released it’s going to be interesting to see how many people will actually pay for it and for those who will wait till it’s leaked.

I still stand by my quote of “MW2 – Biggest Pirated Game of 2010″.

  1. Ian,

I went to the midnight launch and got the Prestige Edition for PS3, haven’t had a chance to get the NVG cranking yet but need to also buy 5 x AA batteries to run it. *sigh* I must say the “Hardened Edition” box is pretty cool. For anyone on the PS3 my PSN is: aussiemavster
